I was making strip weave blocks per color for the rainbow scrap challenge last year. I don't know why but, toward the end of the year, I forgot to finish the colors with this block. I took an inventory this year and decided to finish the 5 or so that I missed. I have all the blocks done and laid them out at an open sew. I have one more row to go and then, borders.

box kite sections
I am slowly piecing the rows for my box kite quilt. I have to be careful to turn each block the right way and start each row the right way, haha. I love the scrappy fun. This is my one monthly goal for April to have a top. The border instructions are a little bit confusing. They are not written like Bonnie's methods.
Just a couple of seams and I will have the center done.

182 yards used more than bought in 2024
I sewed 4 days last week.
I have missed 3 weeks with my rug hooking guild. I did stitch the first block in the second row of the Spring sampler including the red border. The Spring sampler has such sweet little birdies and signs of Spring.

lots of triangles
I am still catching up with purple monkey wrench blocks from March. I started making sugar grove hsts. These are the sets of 5 alike that I need in yellow. Next, I will be finding/cutting sets of 4. I have been through the big bucket of leftover triangles, and didn't find any. Most likely, I will be cutting what I need.

strip tease finish
The strip tease pattern from sentimental stitches was a quilt that my friend and I both made. I started assembly in October of last year. The top was finished in December. Then, it went into the 'to be quilted' closet for a vacation. I was surprised that I drew the number to quilt it so soon for March. I love that it is a wonderful memory of sewing with my quilting buddy. And it was a great stashbuster.

hexagon runner finished
This is an older ufo that has not been finished in years. I was able to sneak it in last month on the 28th to be quilted and bound as part of the 5 quilts project. It is Christmasy. So I am either, way ahead or way behind on getting this ready to use. This was a workshop using a half hexagon template by Nancy Zieman and 2 1/2 inch strips from many years ago. Now, if I only had a dining room table that was not used as a secondary sewing space, I would have a place to use it.

scrappy twirl blocks
In 2018 I was determined to use my scrap crazy templates or get rid of them. I saw a picture of a quilt that was different than the usual way of using the templates, that I decided to try. I sewed a print strip and a background strip together and used one of the templates to make 60 degree triangles. It has been waiting in the UFO closet since then. When I opened the box, there were 50 sets of 6 triangles pinned together. They are not very big and I wasn't sure how I would proceed. I decided I would sew them in halves and join them.
