stash report April 13, 2025

I picked up a few things from the guild table at our quilt show. This is what I bought after the 1/2 off sale. I haven't checked my non sale bag yet. This is the fun stuff. My own version of an Easter egg hunt.

But, I have continued this after we returned home. I try to do a little every day. I want to finish this by the end of the year.... or next.

I have started the vines for the section of berries that I will do next. The piece is quite cumbersome but I like doing the bias stems.

stash report April 6, 2025

I pulled out an older ufo project box that had the project that is next for my 5 quilt project. It had a bunk mate that I didn't remember. I decided I was going to donate it to guild for donations. I think it might be time to go through my ufo closet and rediscover what is in there. I'm sure I could reduce unwanted projects.

stash report March 30, 2025

I can't believe it is the end of March.  I visited a garage sale for a member of our guild who had passed away last year. Mostly, her children, priced the fabric very high, and very few of us went home with much of anything. I tried, but, the only thing I bought was a ziplock of fat quarters that seemed to coordinate. There were 13 for 15.00

I found this wonderful vintage piece for 2.00  I asked my hubby why this reminded me of him, and he said that it looked like the wallpaper of his room when he was a boy. haha  That was a longtime ago.

I did stop at Joanns to see what was going on sale. It was mostly 20% off. In 60 years of sewing I have never paid 80% on anything at Joanns. That is why I loved it. Until the last couple of years when there wasn't any bargains or real coupons and incompetent employees. So, sadly, I didn't buy anything. I hear it is 40% now, maybe another look.

I have only visited one fabric store in Florida, until I needed to look for a sashing for my peppermint candy quilt. I accidently found a quilt shop that was closing. serendipity= Everything was 50 % off. I didn't find my sashing fabric, though

but found some great treasures. The shop owner was 94 and had the shop for 32 years. what a quilter

I bought 2 templates that are no longer available = Easy 6 and easy 8. I know I have one of them but since I don't remember which one, I bought them both. LOL I may have to go back again just to look.

No fabric in or out this week. We were close to Dade city Florida and I am a big fan of Becky of quilted twins, so we made the drive. It was a busy shop and, I didn't buy anything. I couldn't believe it myself. Hubby encouraged me to purchase, but, I did not have a plan in the future that I would need fabric. Bummer- I didn't even see Becky.

I am digging through buried boxes of fabric. I am sorting, and folding, and shelving, or donating, as I go through them. I hope I find hidden corners of my fabric room again. I hope I will be doing this throughout 2025. I have decided to give these to our guild store at our quilt show this year. I like the children's quilts but don't want to spend the time, if someone would actually make them.

Hubby bought this for me for Christmas, a few years ago. I think I have 4 blocks done and have started 3 or 4 times. I tried starting it again in 2024 as part of the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy. It didn't work well with rsc. I am hoping to use this as a travel project, and maybe see more progress.

I have chosen simple ways to participate in  light the world with love for this Christmas season. I have many reasons to be grateful this year. I have shared  my love with friends, donated canned goods to a food bank, chatted with a friendly stranger at radiation therapy, played games with my family.  Hope you can find ways to share your heart with others. And thank you all for your wonderful comments and thoughts this year. Quilters are the best.
