I can't believe it is the end of March. I visited a garage sale for a member of our guild who had passed away last year. Mostly, her children, priced the fabric very high, and very few of us went home with much of anything. I tried, but, the only thing I bought was a ziplock of fat quarters that seemed to coordinate. There were 13 for 15.00

I decided to make tiny Tuesday quilt my one monthly goal for March. It was part of the 5 quilt project last year. I didn't get it done in 2024, so I added it to this year's ufo projects. This was a QAL with the rainbow scrap challenge in 2019. It was so much fun to make the the blocks each week and use up the scraps at the same time. The blocks were designed by the academic quilter. After the blocks were done, those participating were on their own for how to finish it. I used a few orphan blocks to make it a little bigger and to fill out the rows. I used a scrappy white with pink rosebuds for the backing and the background fabric for the binding.

I have added the first border and I am prepping the rest. It was scarey, but they are all cut, and so far, nothing bad has happened to them. The border fit, and, I have decided to do square in a square corners. I am happy to see the end of this older ufo. I may meet my one monthly goal of a finish for March. Tulips are up and the forsythia is starting to bloom, We've had a lot of wind here lately. The top half of a tall pine tree broke off and landed in 1 piece. I've seen the whole tree fall many times but not just the whole top.
I have made 4 long enough borders for tiny Tuesday. Now, I have to figure how I want to do the corners. I plan on trimming the long sides to 1/4 inch which is scary. I think that will leave a 3 1/2 inch strip. This is my one monthly goal for March, and if, I don't move along, it won't be finished in time. If this wasn't one of my 5 quilt projects, this is where I would have stopped and put it aside. That is the reason, I have so many older ufos
I have my first finish for the year.
I was excited to start the year with a new Ufo called squared away. The blocks were already done in
2018 as part of the rainbow scrap challenge BOM. I like everything about this finish. The lovely scrappy rainbow colors, the on point settting, the borders, and especially the location of my sewing on vacation. I quilted it when I got home. Now, I am officially ready to work through my ufos for the year with my 5 quilt challenge. It is great to get the first one done. I am out of practice taking pictures.

I have decided to make tiny Tuesday quilt my one monthly goal for March. The top is together, and I am making the borders. I started this in 2019 as a QAL for the rainbow scrap challenge. I made all the blocks and put it away in the ufo closet. As part of the 5 quilt project last year, I brought it out to finish it. I added more blocks to make it bigger. I decided on a border that I am currently working to complete. I hope by the end of March, I will have it finished. I'm sorry these are not new pictures but there has not been any new other than the mess I am making LOL. Wish me luck

4. scrappy twirl - I need to join the blocks with the border I didn't bring this project with me either.
This is the border I plan to add to my tiny Tuesday quilt. Maybe, I can use up a few more 2 1/2 strips. It is simple and quick to sew, and I will have a few bonus triangles as a bonus.

Before we left Indiana, I had joined a few rows for tiny Tuesday. I didn't bring it with me, but I figured out the border I want to make for it. So I have something back home that I can look forward to doing. Although, I am bringing uncompleted projects, too.

squared away top is ready for borders. I did bring my ideas for border fabrics with me on vacation, I might have them done yet this month. I have made a few dresden plates blades as leader/ enders. It has been cold here, and, yesterday, it rained all day. Still an adventure.

We are busy exploring our new snow-less location for vacation. I have had occasion to sew a bit. Florence the featherweight has been a trooper. I threw out the blocks for squared away to get an idea and play with colors. It was easy to piece the first two rows in an on point layout. If I am not too tuckered out in the evenings, I will try to sew a row together. I don't miss the dreary back home.

After, all the rows were made, last week, I laid out the tiny Tuesday rows to decide the layout. So cute. It may not need a border, although I like a bigger quilt. The seams in the rows will be easy to match and assemble. I am slowly making progress.
I am off on an adventure and my Nelly nolting longarm will take a rest from last year and be ready when I am back home. She deserves it.

The last two rows of tiny Tuesday sampler are finished and I can begin to assemble the top. This quilt makes me smile as I look at the different blocks and happy colors. I was able to finish this at Friday quilt group. I have missed several weeks due to illness and it was great to visit with my quilting friends again. However, the library carpet is really ugly. I am already thinking about the borders.
My one monthly goal for January 2025 is to assemble my squared away quilt. I made these blocks in 2018 as part of the rainbow scrap challenge. I thought I would start 2025 fresh with a rainbow scrap quilt. I have the blocks made and I want an on point layout. I will travel this month, and think this would make a great motel project with Florence, my featherweight. Everything I need for the quilt fits in a zip lock bag. I will still use my 5 quilt goal plan for the year. It makes sense to me and appears to work for me. Although, I might be a little less concerned with the time I take on each project. I have randomly chosen 29 ufos that I can pick and choose. Last year I finished 41. I never dreamed I could do that. So, we will see. Life can be challenging at my age.

I am still trying to finish an older ufo from the rainbow scrap challenge called tiny Tuesday. I have the green row done. Most of the blocks were designed by the academic quilter but I have been adding orphan blocks to make it a bit bigger.

This report finishes 2024. I will have 3 quilts I will carry over into 2025. But, I will rearrange them to feel like I am starting fresh with the new year. My goal is to quilt each finish each ufo - quilted and bound before I move to the next quilt. But, I will have 5 quilts again that I can work on as I have opportunity. The variety helps keep it interesting while not overwhelming.
3. tiny tuesday -I am making 8 rows
4. charming stars - I gave the blocks away to guild
5. kaleidoscope quilt- border- This was missing and is now found again
I am ready to start fresh with all new projects for 2025. I used a random number generator and chose 26 ufos from my list. I added the last 3 of 2024 ufos that were not finished to list as well.
