I try to work on these 5 quilts until they are done. Their turn in the UFO closet is over, and, they need to be finished one way or another. PHD in 2025 Project List
I finished 3 ufos in March

tiny tuesday - My March monthly goal is finished
1. kaleidoscope - I have all the borders made and ready to attach to the top
2. peppermint candy - I made all the blocks and I am deciding on sashing. I have a fabric precut and ready to use, but, so far, I am not thrilled with it. This will be my one monthly goal for April
3. scrappy twirl - I need to join the blocks with the border
4. fancy fox - a new older ufo on the list and it needs sashings and assembly
5. hollow nine - rainbow scrap challenge that needs the border.
My PHD report
scrap cutting
I have added another goal to the 5 quilts project. I want to take one day a month and cut scraps. I will have plenty to choose from since I really didn't cut any for 2024, and the bags of uncut scraps are piling up, all over the fabric room.
I cut a big scrap bag for March and it weighed 2 pounds and 13 ounces which = 8 1/2 yards of useable scrappy fabric.
quilts to be quilted:
Looking forward to April

You've done so well with your 5 quilt challenge this year. Congrats on all the finishes. I need to join you in the scrap processing goal, I've not touched my bag of scraps in months!
ReplyDeleteWe just don't realize how much fabric is in our scraps until we do the math! Such pretty quilts, March was a good progress month for you. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteI am curious how do you cut your scraps? So far I haven’t found a system I use. I have plenty of scraps some cut in usable sizes and some waiting in bins for me to do something with them.
ReplyDeleteYour finishes for March are beautiful. Great job! Taking one day a month for dealing with scraps is a really good idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to make scrap processing a daily goal. I have admired your 5-quilts-in-progress all along. Fine finishes!
ReplyDeleteYou are so amazing! Thanks for the inspiration.
