I added the antique tile quilt to the to be quilted closet in February thinking it would be a long time before I saw it again. My random number pick for March was this quilt. I was surprised. But, very glad that it is a finish. I used Suzies scraps tutorial on tile blocks made easy. using charm squares. We still don't have green grass, but, we do have Spring flowers. We had warmer weather and then, night freezes. I think everything is surviving.

I had found a tutorial for the antique tile block using charm squares at Suzies Scraps. It uses charm squares sewn together, and, then, cut to make an old classic block. And, I had some bright charm squares I wanted to move out of my stash. I added the unfinished blocks to my 5 quilt project in December. I added the piano key border this month and, now, it is ready for quilting. It will wait it's turn on the longarm.

And, I had made two blocks a year or so ago, and, I had a baggie of charm squares that I thought would work for the rest. I only wanted to do a donation quilt with them. I have moved them all around my sewing space, the last year, waiting for a time to finish the squares. I had the chance at an open sew, recently. It is small, but, I think I will stop and add borders.
We have more rain, expecting to last all day. I am sure the garden is very happy. I went to a rug hooking event yesterday, and, was inspired with the colors, and textures, and rugs.
I bought dye in case I need more for the background of my village rug.
Since, I had a project this year that needed civil war reproduction fabrics, I realize I have a lot of holes in my colors, and, that, I truly like the look of them. I hope I will use more in my quilting future. I added a tan piece this week, and, I found a lost honey bun.

I have added a bit more spooky moon to my spellbound rug. It is fall like outdoors and I am feeling the witchy vibe. It won't be long, before we are buying pumpkins, and, apples and, waiting for halloween. Still, I will set this aside in favor of my village rug that has waited forever for the background.

I have been cutting a bag of scraps in an effort to not buy any new fabric. The idea is that if I see how much I have of just the little stuff, then, I will see I don't need any new fabric to be happy. I can't say it has worked.

It seems I have used a lot of 1 1/2 inch strips lately. And, it is my least favorite home cut. So, I bought a few honey buns at a really good sale price. Sashings will be simpler with these. And, there can be 4 patches and 9 patches galore. And, hey, they don't take up much room.

I stitched at least 15 minutes every day this week. and made significant progress on sea swept.
I didn't go to rug hooking guild last week. I stayed home to longarm, since I have a few last minute quilters getting ready for our quilt show October 1st. They have these puppy dog eyes when they ask if I can get it done in time. What little progress I made on the sheep project was at home. I bought this chair pad kit at a quilt show. I look forward to adding to this as my slow stitching project today.

Happy Father's Day! I married a good one. He was right in the trenches with me. He changed diapers, cleaned up yukky things, went to all the events, held them, carried them, taught them. He was right there with me. He was better with them in the night - I was a zombie. And so far, he is good with all my fabric.

I found these hooked chickens in my ufo drawer that need a back and a finish. I will be hand stitching the red piece to the back to make potholders for Slow Sunday Stitching.

I attended a sleep in your own bed retreat this weekend and there was a free table. I haven't had a chance to count what came home. ( I was really really tired). Unfortunately, the table was on the way to the restroom, and, right next to the food. I remember, I found purple, and florals which I was looking to add to my stash. I had a great sew day Saturday with our guild. I planned on starting a new project that came recently from Missouri star. I don't remember how I saw this kit, but, I think it was on you tube. The charm squares are from Africa as a free enterprise sort of cooperation with Missouri Star, I don't have anything like this, it looked easy, and it was something new.
I looked it up on line.
I had a chance to buy 4 of the same charm pack in red and blue. It was a closeout sale somewhere. They are blender type of patterns and I thought I would be able to use them. Although, I can't seem to open any of my charm packs - they are too "special"
