dotty bow ties almost top

I only have 2 more rows of dotty bow ties to add to the quilt. I am almost there. hooray

It is time to prepare for next year's phd progress projects. I had to chuckle when quilting Gail said if you have at least 12 UFOs, make a list. It guarantees my participation for many more years. How many? I fear, longer than I will live at this point. Is any one honest about the number of UFOs? I tell my friends one number, and my lists say another, and then, there is the husband number.... oh well, just keep sewing.

I had a fun year last year focusing on the UFO finishes. I hope to do that again in 2023

  1. I love this quilt, she's a beauty! I also have unfinished quilts but I don't count the bags that are just fabric with the pattern. Those are wannabe quilts but they're not actually started until the fabric is cut. Happy stitching, Happy New Year!

  3. That is a super cute quilt! Love all the dots. If I got involved with making a list of my UFO's I wouldn't have time to work on any. LOL

  4. Your dotty bowtie top is so much fun, Maggie! I love how you're putting the bowtie blocks together with the sashing. I'm with you on the UFO numbers - just keep sewing!

  5. That's a colourful, cheerful quilt! As for UFOs...I appreciate the link to PHD. I downloaded the template. I'm an art quilter, knitter and stitcher (mainly cross stitch) so I have UFOs of each type. My art quilt UFOs consist mainly of finishing facings and applying hanging sleeves. I am, however, a *big* Bonnie Hunter fan, so I have scrap quilt UFOs as well. This template might just help me get even more finished this year!

  7. The dotty bows are such fun. Happy stitching today. Do you really have a number of UFOs for the husband that's different from the others? My Guy just shakes his head no matter how many I have. Good luck with your plans for 2023, hopefully all of us can do better on the UFO front.

  10. Such a pretty quilt! I have a list of UFO's... and it is great until I decide to ever clean the sewing room. I have a feeling there are more hiding in the wings! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2023.

  11. I'm a sucker for polka-dot fabric and this bow-tie charmer is just fabulous. Love how you layout the blocks with the sashing. Great job! Am I honest about how many UFOs I have? I lost count after 20 as I ran out of fingers and toes. Here's to many finishes in the new year. Health and laughter always. ;^)

  12. I love the polka dot bow ties. As far as UFO lists are concerned, I have to turn over the lined page and continue on the back. 😝

  13. I too will be joining Quilting Gail again this year. UFOs seem to abound here too. I'll see you at the monthly progress postings! Let's get some of these projects crossed off our list. Happy 2023!

  15. Glad to hear you're joining us for PHD in 2023!!! If you finish 12 projects and complete all the new starts, you'll be on your way to decreasing that UFO list!
    Happy Quilting! :-)
