Stash report December 4, 2022

Someone, at guild open sew, gifted these squares to me. They filled a plastic shoe box. I had found another scrap bag of squares earlier- here- and had decided what I was going to do with them. I need to do that again. They are not all the same size and will need trimming. The squares are about 3 inches. Any ideas?

stash report: October 9, 2022

I bought muslin for my shirt quilts and a fun jelly roll of stripes in bright colors. I know I have muslin somewhere in my stash, but I can't find it. Where does it go.

It is border time on my witchy rug: spellbound. I dyed a bit of wool in orangey/gold. I also set a binding strip around the edges so I can hook up right to it. Most of the hookers in my guild, like to roll the edges, and, wrap wool yarn around the roll. I find it tedious, so, I use a binding made of wool. It does get a bit unwieldy in the corners, but, I can then just hand sew it to the back and be done with it.

I sewed 1 day last week. Instead of Friday group, we went to a quilt show in Indy. I bought a bag of fabric there, that I haven't gone through, yet. We saw this one on the way to the restroom, so it was the first picture. We were on a mission.

Most of the sky is done on my witchy rug: spellbound. It is time to start planning for the borders and finishing. I dyed some witchy colors for the borders. I may need to pick more of halloween colors to dye more wool. I am thinking orange?

I sewed 4 days last week and I went to Friday quilt group. I have been missing lately.

I added a couple more charm packs and a new mister to my stash. I really like the misting bottles for the starch. They don't clog and give a more even spray.

I have a little more done on my witch rug which I started here in March. I dyed the wool for the  creepy moon background for my witch rug. I am excited to hook the moon next.

We have had great success in our garden bed growing swiss chard. It has been a real treat. I like it better than spinach and it doesn't mind the sun or heat. It grows back if I cut it, and has been yummy. I have not been successful with spinach. And because it grows tall it is keeping weeds down and moisture levels up. - a great combination.

try again one monthly goal

We are going to try this again for my one monthly goal at Elm street quilts. I have filled in the blank spots and squared the EPP for this little handsewn quilt. I want to iron all the edges out ( they are still wrapped around the paper templates), and starch it before I trim it. Then, I will add a border, and quilt it. I used this as my goal for May but, didn't finish it.

goal for July

I have some hand stitching to do on my friendsheep rug, but, I have to trim and press first. I haven't gotten to that yet, But, I did put another rug on the stand, that I can work on slowly in the mean time.

I started it here in March while I was waiting for my sheep rug to finish with the other swappers. I did the hat and face and I am working on the banner above her head. She is a fun little witch.

barrel of fun

I have been dehydrating pansies and violas. The season is about finished. We had a yard full of violas this year. Probably because our lawn mower was in the hospital. violas are great in skin care, especially the face including acne. It has anti inflammatory properties and relieves pain. It is good for mental health and helps with respiratory health and the common cold.

Stash report March 27, 2022

I have a few new fabric arrivals from Missouri star. So far, these have been on the approved list for this year. I knew I needed purple and orange and small print neutrals to fill in missing pieces. And when there is a sale....

I sewed 6 days last week. It helped that I had a Saturday open sew with the guild. I am content with little bits of progress throughout the week. Still a whole day, is a lovely time for progress and friends. Our guild meets once a month on a Saturday.

I have started a new rug hooking project, even though, I have not finished friendsheep. I had time at home while my sheep rug was passed around. It is home with me now. but, I am in the decision phase. It is nice to have a project as a back up for time outs on my real project. This is a Halloween project that might actually be ready for Halloween this year. haha
