I have another older ufo finished. This was a quilt I saw at a local quilt shop. I really liked it, and they were happy to cut the fabric for me. I had it made right away, but, as usual, It has been in a pile that needs to be quilted. The date on the list is 2011. It is about 43 x 48. I think the reason, I didn't finish it, is that I wanted special quilting for it, and, I didn't feel like I had the skills at the time.
The houses were pieced, but, the tree fabric was printed that way. I used a snowflake pantograph and a striped backing.
While I am quilting older ufos and I am not looking, two more quilts jump on the pile.
This is also a finish for my PHD 2020

I LOVE that! So simple but still so beautiful. Nice to have it finally finished, right?
ReplyDeleteoh I love that tree fabric and how you used it - goes perfectly with those houses
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful. To develop those skills just dive right into to your projects and always do your best effort, the more you do the better it gets, and really it is always good enough no matter what your skill level.
ReplyDeletePretty quilt, and I love the strippy binding too. Congratulations on the finish, it's great to see UFO's pile going down ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with TGIFF, come back on Sunday for Patchwork & Quilts linky party ;))
It looks so pretty - and you will be ready for winter now!
ReplyDeleteIt's darling! And I can't believe that two more quilts just "jumped" onto the pile. No wait, I CAN believe it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using tree (or garden) fabric between houses. That's so inspirational! Congrats on the finish, and this turned out so awesome!
ReplyDeleteCute. Congrats on the finish and the skills now to finish it.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one who had quilts sneak into the quilting pile!
It has turned out beautifully, love the tree print alongside the house blocks.
ReplyDeleteWell done! It really is pretty! I can see why you liked it when you saw it in the quilt store!
ReplyDeleteYour freshly finished UFO is SEW pretty, Maggie!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful wintry quilt! Kudos, Maggie, and I wonder if that pattern is still available.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful finish! I have some of that "tree" fabric. Not sure what the plan was for it. Don't worry about the two more on the list, celebrate the one that just came off.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish. Quilting UFOs is an overarching goal for me this year although I haven't written it down anywhere. I love your houses quilt. It seems to me that I saw that somewhere and really liked it then. I like it even more now. You've done a great job. I even noticed the cool striped binding. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat pattern is called Snow Days, by Janet Locey. The fabric is what makes it, but very hard to find at this point. Nice job!
