I think these blocks are cute and fun. There is a link at the bottom of the post for the pattern. The rainbow scrap challenge color for the month of March is teal. I really like having a new color each month to help me weed out the useable scraps, and make something useful. These use 1 1/2 inch strips and squares.
I use the littlest triangle scraps for this fun wonky star block. Each block is a little surprise. The centers and background are 2 inch squares.

frolic top
I spent an afternoon at Church as the second person for teaching a young boy having trouble with school. My job was easy. Just be there as a back up. I decided I would bring my sewing machine, and, take advantage of a floor to layout the rest of my frolic mystery quilt.
By mid afternoon, all the parts were sewn and I had 2 halves left to put together.
Before I went home, I had the top together this far. All that is left are the borders.

this and that
My hubby has back surgery Monday. We are in a daze, and, I haven't really been sewing much. I have finished a few more little things. I have a a few shoofly blocks which is a leader/ ender challenge at Quiltville. I am doing the same size as Bonnie which finishes at 4 1/2 inches. So far, I have not cut any triangles for this, but have used leftover triangles I have in a bucket.
I did quick count, and have 40 blocks.
I had a little snowman next on my snowman rug. He is cuter in person. I have 2 left for the whole rug. I have 3 sides of snowmen finished here.

one monthly goal and frolic
It was so nice yesterday, we took a walk in the park. There was just a little bit of snow left under the fallen tree. Spring is close I can feel it.
This is part of my one monthly goal for March. I want to complete the top. I also want to quilt my sweet land of liberty quilt and Lucy's baskets quilt.

Friday group I had a chance to layout frolic and make the center row and the smaller one before it. It is all downhill from here. There is a lot of pinning and matching. It was more fun to sit and pin when in the company of other quilter friends. With every row, I like it better.

orange star
I forgot about scraptastic stars for February. So, I have an orange to share for the last Saturday of February for the rainbow scrap challenge. I had cut the pieces, but, forgot to make the block until I thought about the link up today.
I played with bitty pumpkins in orange using 3 1/2 inch orange squares just for fun.
I am ready for another color,

sand castle finish
I am not getting the comments in my email. I wonder if blogger is having a problem. I am sorry if I am not responding to comments. I think I may have fixed it.
I started sand castles early last year and have tried to stick to it until it is finished. It was a massive project to cut and sew 3648 pieces and a bunch of strings together, and, more importantly, to keep me on the same project.
It finishes at 80 x 80 and used 20 1/4 yards of fabric.
Funny story: Cleaning up around my treadle in the living room, and I found this bunch of green sets for the sand castle quilt. It couldn't be, then, I looked at the quilt and sure enough there is only one green in the whole quilt. sigh.... I wondered why I had to cut more sets at the end. Is there anybody working on this that could use a few green sets? I can send them to you.

florabunda again
Warning: this project is not anywhere on my goal list for the year. I was just straightening the project area.
Last week I shared florabunda quilt, and wanted to decide if I should finish the blocks and put it away for awhile, or just put it away. I had pieces cut, and, I was at least 4 blocks short of a quilt. While I was counting and figuring, my head said - all the pieces are cut, just...... sew a few.
Next thing I know, I have 52. Well, that doesn't make a layout for a quilt. If I cut a few more yellow strips and triangles, I could go to 56. Next thing I know, I have 61. Don't watch TV while doing this, folks. I am absolutely stopping at 63. Really, I am.
