fall finish

I rarely manage to finish a topical quilt in time for any season. This year, I have finished patriotic quilts in time for July 4th, and, now, a fall quilt in time for fall. I must admit, that when I decide which quilts, in my personal blacklog, I am going to quilt, I start with the smallest or the easiest.

I started this one in November 2018 as a mystery quilt at my carolina home. Carole from from My Carolina home offered a quilt along mystery called autumn jubilee.  I worked on it  here and here

I used a flannel sheet from the thrift store for the back. It seemed cozy enough for a fall quilt. It measures 56 x 68.

I managed to quilt at least 2 spiderwebs just for fun.

This quilt will be part of my One monthly goal and phd20

  1. Hi Maggie! Oh, that spiderweb is pretty darn cool. It's a beautiful finish and with that flannel backing it is definitely snuggle worthy. Great job on the finish and a UFO at that. ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. That's so pretty with the scrappy fall colors! I made a tablerunner version of that pattern - it's about time to get it out!

  9. Fabulous Fall finish, Maggie! All free motion quilting, right? I love how you added the cobwebs for just a hint of trick-or-treating without going full-tilt on Halloween. This way, your quilt is perfect for autumn all the way through Thanksgiving. Great job!

  10. Oh, I like that fall quilt. I don't have any seasonal quilts, but that looks like a good one to start with. It probably won't be finished this year, but I could look through my stash for the fabric. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Definitely love your fall quilt. I'm always late with the seasons and holidays, but I just finished my Halloween quilt in time for next month. I probably should start working on a Christmas quilt to get it finished on time. It's just around the corner!

  17. I like this one a LOT! I don’t have a “Fall” quilt or a Halloween quilt! I had better get that remedied! The pumpkins are so cool!

  19. Congrats on a finish! That thrift store flannel made for the perfect backing. I need to find some backings and get something finished one of these days. I admit to quilting the smallest ones first too. But now I mostly out of smalls so it's on to twin sized.
