soap sacks

sometime ago,  I showed some soap sacks that I was crocheting. I have filled a small box of soap sacks for the rescue mission in town. I spent one evening attaching the labels and adding the soap. I have 32, but, my daughter has donated more than 300. I have a few more odd skeins of cotton yarn, I might make some more.

Luckily someone sent me a link for the homeless initiative https://www.soapsacks.com/

Our bleeding heart is doing really well this Spring. We bought this as a nearly dead plant at the master gardener sale 3 years ago. I wasn't sure it would survive.

fabric added -0 yards  still haven't added any! I have been a good girl. There was a free basket at sewing group and 3 fat quarters at goodwill that I did not bring home. I need to celebrate the win.

fabric added year to date -0 yards

fabric used 7 yards -gray flannel finish

fabric used year to date 58 yards

58 yards used more than bought. I am starting the year ahead on using fabric.

I sewed 5 days last week.

stash report August 8, 2021

I bought these through missourri star quilt. I don't have any neutral colored batiks and the charm packs were so pretty.

I stitched at least 15 minutes every day this week. I am back to sewing in the mornings before breakfast.

Last week I showed some soap sacks that I was crocheting. I made another one on Sunday. Luckily someone sent me a link for the homeless initiative https://www.soapsacks.com/

it looks lonely by itself

I think I will talk to the rescue mission this week to see if they would even accept this and give me a starting number. I can get 2 out of every skein of cotton yarn plus a leftover piece.

stash report August 1, 2021

I ordered a mystery fat quarter bundle from Missouri star quilt company. I liked all the fat quarters that I received. There were a few colors of the top fabric and nothing too wild.

It was fun to see what was a mystery

Fabric Used this week: 24 yards    for aunt elizas star

Fabric Used year to Date: 111 1/2 yards

Fabric Added this week: 3 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date: 97 3/4 yards

net fabric: 13 3/4 yards used more than bought - I am on the positive side again

I stitched at least 15 minutes every day this week. I have a list that helps to keep me motivated

I started making these soap sacks for a homeless initiative while I was waiting during hubby's surgery. They are quick and easy and will use leftover cotton yarn. When my daughter was here she was making them and shared the pattern. She made 20 while she was here. I believe she has made over a hundred.  I don't remember all the details. I will check with her again and get more info. But, I think I will work on these today for slow Sunday stitching.
