star and crown in red

My last red project for the month and the rainbow scrap challenge are the blocks I am doing called star and crown. I am doing these blocks as a technique block to see if I can get everything a little more precise. I  think I did do better, by slowing down and making sure I redid it if I didn't like it.

I wonder what color February will be.

  2. Your January blocks turned out beautifully. Glad that slowing down helped with the accuracy. They will look great in aqua and teal for February.

  3. These blocks are beautiful! The rainbow quilt will be lovely but a red & white quilt would be out of this world! Happy stitching!

  5. Challenging yourself to slow down and sew more precisely is a good goal, Maggie. These activities keep up growing as quiltmakers.

  6. Beautiful red blocks. Taking time to do blocks a little slower and a stitch length of two has helped with piecing blocks a lot. Cleaning the plate under the foot of the machine daily to remove the fluffy out, has made a huge difference to the accuracy of piecing said blocks, no more jumps in the stitches. Remarkable how something so small can have so much impact on the outcome. Have never seen this block before. February, bright green to get us in the mood for spring, it is very cold so some cheer would be great!

  8. Those are neat blocks! I, too, have to slow down if I want to be more precise - a good thing to remember.
