string candy

We have had a winter snow storm that has been very beautiful.

I have cut for easy breezy, fish school, and the stashbuster 2022 in aqua/ teal for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy. I can sit and do that.

what color is this one? I wish it could make up it's mind

I only had enough energy and aqua to make 4 blocks this month for my candy quilt.

frolic 2

We had a beautiful fluffy snowfall last night. I may not be so happy with it when I go to physical therapy this morning, and drive in it, but, it is a treasure to see.

The rows are starting to come together for Lucy's basket. It takes a little bit as I feel the need to pin it at every junction, and, there are many junctions. It is such a wonderful feeling to use swap blocks and revisit the memories. More here and here.

I have clue one and now, clue two finished for the frolic mystery quilt. The clues have been very easy, which is not very quiltville like. We may get socked with it later. Clue one here. If you haven't seen the other 18 quiltville mystery quilts I have made, they are here.

purple lantern block

I have another tiny tuesday block finished from the rainbow scrap challenge. I used a batting design board to lay the pieces the way I wanted them to go. I think the block was called lantern.

I sewed each row. The smallest purple went with the largest neutral, and so on.

And, then, I sewed the rows together. It needed a trim.

This blocks is set with a straight border finishing at 7 inches

We have had a big snow with single digit temperatures, We are not used to it this so early. But, it is so pretty, and, the colder it is, the more likely to include sunshine.

stash report January 13, 2019

We have a winter wonderland here in Indiana. I love the look and sound of snow. And at my age, I don't mind being snowed in for a bit. Church was even cancelled today, which is unusual. It started snowing during the night Friday, and snowed all day yesterday.

These are the bargains I found at Missouri star before the end of the year. I wanted the special for the olfa blades.
The layer cake is a new Kaffe Fasset. I have a quilt in progress that I thought I would use it to make, but I had it all cut before the order arrived.
Since I ordered the blades, I had to make the shipping worth it. They had the 5 daily specials so.... I now have Christmas scissors.

Stash report April 2, 2018

Instead of the Easter Bunny, we were visited by the snow fairy. It is so beautiful. Especially, since it will not last. Spring will have it's day.
We have had a little time with our two Granddaughters.Which has left me with little time to sew. But, I don't mind.

It is time to reassess goals for the coming month for One monthly Goal. Typically, I lose time in April. There is so much going on around here, birthdays and gardening plans and the need to Spring clean. So I don't want to make goals that are too lofty and won't get done. Still, the one monthly goal has really been the motivation I have needed to get things done and enjoy the process of focusing and accomplishing something that is important to me.

I plan on getting the mystery quilt Carolina Crossroads finished. I am ready to make a back and quilt it. Surely I can get that done.

I have a Christmas quilt that I pieced with a friend. Hers is done ( I did the quilting) and she wants both of us to enter them in our quilt show this year in October. I need to make the back and quilt mine. Funny how I can get others quilts done but not my own... ok, not so funny.

I want to get back to snow days and see if I can get the top together.

Sunday, during general conference, I worked a bit on my rug hooking. I love  how it is looking.

I did get the green blocks cut for squared away qal at rainbow scrap challenge, but I didn't get them made into blocks and I didn't get them posted.

April's color is yellow/gold, perfect for Spring. Oh, wait, all colors are perfect for Spring!
