lozenge finish

My lozenges quilt is finished. Lozenges is the 2014 quiltville leader/ender challenge.  I swapped blocks with my daughter and a quilty buddy, Lucy, who is the fussy cut queen. I chose blue and brown for the colors, since, I had so many scraps in those colors.  I pulled this out in June as part of my 5 quilt project. I had it ready to quilt in July. When I opened the box, all the blocks were pieced. I have really enjoyed making quilts with swapped pieces. Every set of blocks, I received was like Christmas morning. When sewing them together, I had such warm gratitude for the other talented quilters that I know. Quilting has been such a blessing.

tops finished

I have finished 2 ufos to the top stage before the end of the month. They are pressed, backs are pieced, binding is prepared, and they are on their way to the 'to be quilted' closet.

Neutral territory is an older ufo from 2013. It was in the ufo closet waiting for a decision about borders. It was an easy decision, especially at the end of the month, to not do borders. It will be great as is. It just needs quilting which I hope I will get to in August.

I have worked on lozenges for a bit and it is pieced and ready to quilt. I will add this to the quilting closet, too.

lozenge part 2

At this point, I am sewing over 350 lozenges to each other in groups of 6. I want 24 across and 6 will

guzinta 24 evenly. This is my next piecing project in my 5 quilts project also the 2014 quiltville leader/ender challnge

It is really fun to revisit all the different scraps from 2014 - a place marker in time. It is easy peasy to join them side to side not so fun to join them top to bottom.

I love scrappy quilts because who couldn't love having snowmen, flowers, a moose, and light houses nestled among other beautiful fabrics. not me

lozenges start again

Oh my, another older ufo project box to open. Where in the world do they come from? I moved on to this quilt in the 5 quilt project to find a good piecing project to take to open sew. My notes are very sketchy but they are from 2014. This was the Bonnie Hunter leader/ender challenge from 2014. I do remember that we needed a lot of lozenge blocks -over 300 and that I swapped with my daughter and Lucy D.  It appears I wanted blue and brown. I have a few sets of 2 and 4 sewn together. The box smells a little musty, it has waited a longtime in the back of the closet. Bonnie had suggested black and white for the corners. I love that it is very scrappy.
