I decided to make the last 10 blocks I needed to finish my windmill blocks for the year. I had counted them earlier and realized I was 10 short. I added grays, black, and a surprise orange found on the sewing table. That gives me 63 blocks for a 7 x 9 layout. I have tentatively added the windmill block to next year's rainbow scrap challenge list. It was easy, quick, and a good use for scrappy 2 1/2 inch strips. It would take 32 strips from a jelly roll to make it this size. The blocks are 8 1/2 inches. The quilt would be 56 x 72 more or less.

Thanks for mentioning how many strips it would take to make that size quilt. I make quilt tops for a charity and that's about the size they want. Thanks for sharing all that you do.
ReplyDeleteI made these blocks for RSC 2022. They're in a box waiting to be let out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project for RSC! Your current version is terrific. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
