baskets ufo top

This is One of the 5 quilts I am working to finish

It was a buck a block from a store in Indy in 2014. I loved the colors and fabrics so much so that I bought the finishing kit, too. So, the monthly blocks were just the baskets. I am not sure why it has been an Ufo for so long, but, it needs finishing. I pressed and trimmed, and added the inner borders, and the outer border.

It is officially a top with a back and binding ready for the "to be quilted" closet. I need to change the name closet to vault. At least the quilts have each other for company.

sugar mountain finish

I have a finish. Sugar mountain was a workshop with our guild and Pam Buda. At the last retreat, I decided to finish this quilt the way it was. Originally, this quilt was just 12 blocks, and I rarely do small quilts. I had cut for a few more blocks, and planned to make it bed size. I took it with me to retreat to formulate a plan. The plan ...finish it.

It was small enough that I felt I could longarm it as long as I took long breaks. The binding was done over a couple of evenings in front of the tv.

This is part of my 2019 finish along goals.
My list for the 3rd quarter:
1.wiggle time finished
2. allietare finished
4. sweet land of liberty
5. unicorn
6. good fortune finished
7. crazy 6
8. countryside cottage
9. sugar mountain finished
10.En provence finished
11. melba applique
12.on ringo lake finished
13. scrappy twirl
14. soul searching

one monthly goal finish

I have the top done for my civil war edition of En Provence. This was last year's Bonnie Hunter mystery. This is a finish for my one monthly goal at Elm street quilts. So far I have met my goal 10 out of 11 months and really exceeded my expectations for the year, not that I wouldn't love to have finished 100 more quilts, but I am finishing.
We have had sunshine the last 2 days and it has been enjoyable to be outside.Still cold and in the 40s, but the sun makes everything better. The quilting for this will have to wait until next year.
Now that it is sock weather, I notice alot of thread on the bottom of the sock, which explains the thread in all the far reaches of the house.

borders

It is all ready for borders. I had to really give myself a talking to get it this far. I love it, but I just don't want to sew it. En Provence with civil war fabrics...
I have been working on my Poppy rug/pillow
I don't like the background that I bought. I think it is too dark. you can see it between the leaves and the flower at the bottom. So I am thinking I will try to dye something a little lighter. But I also need to pick the accent fabric for the piping and the back. Right now I like the grunge at the top. What do you like?
