I try to work on these 5 quilts until they are done. Their turn in the UFO closet is over, and, they need to be finished one way or another.
It's good to add a few completions to my 5 quilt report this time. I'm finding it harder to keep too many quilts going at the same time. This year's ufo list has fewer near finishes, and more projects barely started.

Hollow nine - rainbow scrap challenge from 2023 that needs the border appliqued. I have cut the flowers and the stem is ready. I just need to attach. This is still on the list for 2026, but, I haven't worked on it lately.
dresden blocks - I have the top ready to quilt
stars two bits is ready for borders
Looking forward to August
stars two bits
Editya Sitar baskets - I opened the box twice, and then closed it. I have been busy with the other projects, and I have only little bits of time and I want to concentrate on it.
pumpkin patch if I can find it
halloween card trick
scrap cutting
I have added another goal to the 5 quilts project. I want to take one day a month and cut scraps. I will have plenty to choose from since I really didn't cut any for 2024, and the bags of uncut scraps are piling up, all over the fabric room. Last year, the total was 36 1/2 yards of useable fabric.
And I plan on continuing this in 2026, even though, I see no discernable difference in the scrap piles.

You've made awesome progress finishing quilts on your list this year, and all are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the finishes, Maggie. Your cut-scraps-for-a-day is a good idea!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned scrap cutting before. I really need to start doing that so I have workable squares or strips. I've got scraps in bags and tubs and boxes. It's time I try and start a scrap cutting day every so often. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou've done such a good job working down those UFOs. It does get to the point where all the easy stuff is gone and it takes more work to reach finished. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great finishes! I need to get my UFO’s done too. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteYour quilt finishes are so pretty. I especially like pfeffernusse. I like the piano key border on the dresden block quilt. I saw the words Halloween card trick and I am intrigues. I have always wanted to make a card trick quilt. Question: what do you do with all these quilts?
ReplyDeleteWow!!! You were very productive!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh that's a lot of finishes! So happy for you! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Congrats on your beautiful finishes, Maggie. I love that Dresden quilt! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteWell done finishing these quilts, and making lots of progress on the others. I love Stars Two Bits! Thank you for sharing your lovely projects and linking up.
ReplyDeleteGreat job finishing 3 of the 5! Scrap management is time consuming. If you use them, it's time well spent.
