This year for the rainbow scrap challenge, I started making an older ufo I called baby 30s. It is a small quilt ( baby size) that I had in the ufo closet since 2018. I found the pattern in sew scrappy magazine. I cut all the pieces then. As each color was called for the months, I made a block and sewed the strips together for the 4 patches. Last month, I made the sashing pieces. I still have November to put it together. I am a big fan of 30s fabrics even though they are not trendy. The idea that those era quilts and fabrics were created to improve a dire time with their pretty colors still works for me.
This is one of my finished quilts that is still a favorite.

The baby quilt is going to be very pretty, 30's fabrics are perfect for baby quilts. I like the large quilt too. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty prints in your scrappy 1930's UFO. The finished quilt is lovely. Good luck with your RSC plans for the rest of 2024.
