another shirt quilt

holy toledo is a quiltville pattern from the book scraps and shirttails 2. All the blocks are finished and I have sewn them into twosies. I added this to my 5 quilt ufo projects this year. All the pieces were cut a long time ago. All I had to do was sew the pieces together. It is a great social sewing project. I really like working with recycled shirt fabric.

stash report June 22, 2025

These were scraps I picked up at the free table. I have a quilt in mind - one of my older ufos- that I will use odd colored neutrals. I would like to cut these as soon as possible and add them to the box for the quilt

not quite fat quarters

more orange progress

I haven't been sewing much lately.

I will be forever catching up monkey wrench blocks. At least I made an orange one this month. I haven't counted lately.

Again, I am behind on my sugar grove blocks. I think I have 41 of 62 finished.

I sewed the 2 1/2 inch strip sets for my windmill project and have them sub cut and ready to sew.

I have 3 rows out of 5 sewn together for my spiderweb quilt.

And I cut more 1 1/2 inch strips for ditch lilies.

zipper is finished

zipper blocks is a finished quilt. I started this quilt as part of the rainbow scrap challenge in 2022. I was able to use many of my solid scraps in this fun and easy scrap quilt. I saw it on sane, crazy crumby quilts, and, she referred to Klein meisje quilts. At the end of the year, I put it away. In 2025, as part of my 5 quilt project, I decided to finish it. I started piecing the blocks into twosies and then, foursies.  In May, I began making rows

72 x 86 = 24 yards

snowball progress

I made progress on my snowball quilt. I thought I had snowballed all the corners on all the charm squares. Hooray.

But, as I sewed them together in twosies, I could tell that I had missed a batch, somewhere. Bummer. It's a good thing I have enjoyed making these. The remaining, pesky little squares were hiding in the pile of 2 inch squares. They will be called to task. Aren't they cute? gotta love a scrappy quilt.

stash report June 15, 2025

I found these at a quilt sale. They came in a bigger bag of fat quarters that I still am investigating. I like enhancing my purple, orange, and yellow stash.

orange progress

I used 3 wof 1 1/2 inch strips and made strip sets with a neutral. The orange zigzag units are all done for June.

I turned the twosies from orange spiderwebs  into 5 rows with 6 blocks each.   Here is my first post about this quilt in 2016

I sewed a few orange/neutral sets for ditch lilies that I had already cut. But, My numbers are wrong and will have to cut more.

I have an older shirt quilt ufo that I am slowly working on when social sewing. I really like shirt fabrics and making it has helped with my motivation to keep cutting the huuge box of shirt pieces. holy toledo is a quiltville pattern from the book scraps and shirttails 2
