rows for baby30s quilt

Beginning in January, I used my baby 30s quilt as part of the rainbow scrap challenge, and all the blocks were finished by November. It had already been in the ufo closet since 2018. I finished all the sashings and, this week I joined the blocks into rows. I still need to make the 4 patch sashings between rows and as borders.

moving along

We are excited to have the giving machine again in Indianapolis Indiana ( clay terrace). Last year, it was the first year here, and we had so much fun using it. We donated fresh produce to gleaners, sheep and socks to 3rd world countries. There might be a giving machine in your area. There are over 200 world wide. I hope you will check it out at giving machines and light the world.

more midnight flight

I have been sewing rows for my midnight flight Ufo. I had 1 row done last week from a Friday day with my quilting buddies. Making all the star blocks was my one monthly goal for November, and I have exceeded that to this point. I may still have time to finish the top before the end of the month.

It's that time of year again when our community has the "we care" trees in the mall. Every year, for years, our community has sponsored decorated Christmas trees. The trees are sold at auction, and, the money is donated to We care charity for Christmas charity giving. At this point, mostly only businesses can afford to buy the trees and display them at their businesses. We have visited each year and it is very inspiring for the Christmas spirit.

stash report November 17, 2024

I really liked this navy fabric when I saw it. It is a little different than my other navy/ sapphire fabrics. I use a lot of dark blues for borders and binding. I have been using partial spools of thread in an effort to

empty the drawer. I wanted to restock the neutrals since I use them the most.

I sewed 6 days last week. It was good to finish another quilt, which is number 37 for the year.

I have made a little progress on my Christmas in new England rug hooking project. It is still a slow moving project. I am really trying to add a few wool strips every day. I have moved the rug on the frame and look forward to working on a cute Christmas tree.

split nine finish

My quiltville leader /ender challenge 2013 - split nine patch is finished. All the blocks were made by the end of that year. It has been a ufo since then. As part of my 5 quilt project, I restarted  it in February of 2024. It was my March one monthly goal, and the top was finished by the end of March. It has waited patiently for the quilting and binding in the to be quilted closet. I loved this setting on quiltville's blog site and I did my best to copy it. The block itself is simple and makes a great scrap buster. I would do it again if I live long enough.

83 x 96 = 26 yards

I have the first 6 leader/ ender challenge quilts done. I didn't do the 2017 challenge so next in line to finish is jewel box stars from 2018.

pink tiny tuesday sampler

As part of my 5 quilt project, I am ready to start an older Rainbow scrap challenge sampler from 2019. Last week, I started making the dark blocks that I had not made before putting the project away. I plan to make the dark blocks the 4 corners of the quilt. I had enough pink blocks finished to make the first row. I think it is sew cute.  and makes me smile. I am thinking the red row will be next. Meanwhile, I am pinning rows together for midnight flight

one row of midnight flight

God bless all the brave men and women who have preserved our nation. thank you

All the star blocks are finished for midnight flight Ufo. Last week, I had the star blocks webbed together which made sewing the center seam quick and easy. I just had to try a row and really like how it looks. I am making a 6 x 6 layout. I like the colors coming together. Someone asked me how I get all the points to match. Easy, have so many points in the quilt that no one will notice all the points that don't match - shazam camouflaged

stash report November 10, 2024

I am still adding sale priced neutrals to my stash for next year. I have been working hard on older ufos in 2023 and 2024. So I am hoping I will venture into something new next year. I have chosen 25 ufos for next year. That only leaves a few hundred to go LOL
