on a whim, we headed to Archibold Ohio for Sauder rug hooking week. I went looking for a blue sky for my houses swap rug. I couldn't find what I wanted in the quantity I would need. sigh  I have no idea what inspired me to take any of these pictures over others. It had been 2 years since we attended the show, and it was a lovely adventure.

1st rug that caught my eye

Mu husband rug hooks, too. He was intrigued with this one.

looks like a great way to use leftover scraps

week 3 with aqua scraps

The off track quilt top is finished. This is an older ufo that had aqua in it that I am making progress on for the rainbow scrap challenge. I added the last of the borders at Friday sew group. I decided not to add any other border. I guess it is time to find a back and get quilting.

I am behind on making my sugar grove blocks. I did finish 2 of them.

I made a few monkey wrench blocks and I have 122 of them, now.

I made the strip sets with aqua for my windmill quilt.

progress

I have half of my holy toledo blocks assembled. There is a lot of matching. I try to pin a couple of rows at night while watching tv. I really like the secondary patterns. I haven't spent much time in my sewing room. I hope I can get back there soon.

I have another top that is nearly finished. The sides are naturally finished with the design of the block, but, the top and bottom borders look unfinished. I hope to get them added today at Friday sew group.

stash report August 10, 2025

I bought a bolt of fabric from Missouri star because it was a deal. I was completely surprised when it arrived on the bolt and it was a joann fabric- Keepsake calico. Apparently, Missouri star bought during the liquidation. I did not see anything in the ad that is was from Joann or I probably wouldn't have bought it. But, it is still fabric. Who doesn't like new fabric?

8 yards

 stash report August 10, 2025

fabric added this week: 8  yards

fabric added year to date for 2025: 49 yards

fabric used this week: 24 yards  spiderweb is finished

74 x 86 = 24 yards

fabric used year to date for 2025: 210 1/2 yards

161 1/2 yards used more than bought in 2025

I sewed 3 days last week.

I have created a new friendship swap for my rug hooking group. It is a swap rug. Everyone wanted houses this time. It has two rows of houses, and trees, too. We each do a house on our own rug, and then, we pass it around for everyone to hook a house on our rug, When we are done, we will have a rug with our friends hooking on it. I have made 2 or 3 others and they are such a treasure. We have a goal to trade every two weeks.

Here is one rug that was up for swapping this week. Pam has decided to make a wool shop house for all of us.
