It has been awhile since my last report of the 5 quilt project. Matter of fact, I completely forgot about it while in Florida.
I try to work on these 5 quilts until they are done. Their turn in the UFO closet is over, and, they need to be finished one way or another.
I have 32 quilts this year that are in the running for time at the sewing machine. In 2024, I finished 41. It was a miracle. In 2025, I finished 14. I don't know what the difference was. I do know the 5 quilt project has been a true help in overcoming overwhelm and procrastination. But, some quilts take longer than others. The first mention I found of the 5 quilts was in October 2021. I remember, I was talking with quilty friends and mentioned I was overwhelmed with the shear number of ufos and quilts I want to make. A friend said, maybe if you just focus on a small number of quilts at a time.... And tada, the sun came out and everything was unicorns and rainbows. It has helped me remain active in my favorite sport ( quilting)
Making a report every month may be boring, But it keeps my mind focused. I will try to stay up to date with that. That is why I have decided to bring it back for me in 2026. I am a little late getting started.
1. wedding ring I have had this ready for a few years, but, I am afraid to quilt it myself. I want it to be special and I don't do special. So I will work to talk my self into it..... some day That didn't happen in
TGIFF different it changes every week

I admire the "5 quilt" process because it must provide more focus. Procrastination is something I struggle with all the time, plus the fact I like starting new projects better than finishing the old ones.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great goal idea. It looks like it's working for you, Maggie! Some very pretty quilt finishes coming down the chute for you.
ReplyDeleteSo satisfying to move projects along to the finish line. Keep sewing. These look like fun projects. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteIt does help so much to focus on just a few projects, it's not so overwhelming. Good luck with your 5 to finish this year. Sounds like even with a late start you've made good progress.
ReplyDeleteFeeling overwhelmed and procrastinating, that's me too. I do like your Rainbow hollow nines, I've got one of those too, still in pieces.
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen some pretty projects to work on. You can do it! Oh those UFOs! This year I'm working on my UFOs, one at a time. So far I have not started anything new, except for the 99 Charms quilt tops that were fast and easy to sew.
ReplyDeleteI always love your 5 quilt goal posts. You are making great progress & I'm loving your layout choice for the Hollow Nines.
ReplyDeleteFive quilts at the time sounds manageable and I like the ones you picked. Your scrap cutting goal looks great too! Thank you for sharing your projects and linking up.
ReplyDeleteI always like seeing your lists - its fun to see what you are working on and get inspired!
ReplyDeleteThe five quilt project is a good idea. It's a little like doing one strand a day in the stitch world.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see this back! You always make such good progress with the 5 quilts. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
