Flying home is a finish. I made this in Florida I took the blocks with me and worked on them while we were there. I bought the fabric for the borders while I was there, too. This project has a rascally past. Now you see it now you don't. I feel like I have been chasing these blocks for a long time. I started it as part of the rainbow scrap challenge in 2019. When I looked for it the next year, I couldn't find it. In an unrelated cleaning, There they were. I bundled them up and put them in the ufo closet. When I wanted to work on it as a ufo, I couldn't find it. Last year, I was looking for another ufo, and found them making friends... in the wrong box. and tada it's done. It really was flying home.

Congrats on a very fun finish! Now the blocks can't hide anymore.
ReplyDelete"I found it in the last place I looked." Persistence pays off!
ReplyDeleteSneaky blocks - hiding from you! glad you found them - this is a great finish!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your story of this quilt. Do you label your quilts? This would be a great story to put on that label. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI agree that would make a great story for the label. It is a great story! And I can't tell you how many times I've lost projects to the hungry WIP closet. Beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! I really love your layout. Lost and found, then lost and found again - the story of my life. LOL
ReplyDeleteYahoo! A UFO makes it to the finish line!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish showing off those bright scraps.
ReplyDelete"Flying Home" or "Hide and Seek"? Those blocks must have really wanted to hang out a bit more before moving to being a top. However, they were no match for a quilter determined to get to a finish!
ReplyDeleteThat really is a rascally quilt, with those blocks jumping around and hiding themselves away. But you have sorted them out now, looking good!
ReplyDeleteThere are times when I turn around & tell myself now I know i made those blocks where are they. !😄 Flying Home looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun story with this scrappy finish! :) I'm currently looking for a pile of missing blocks I want to re-work...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt. Congrats on the finish. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure none of us can relate to a pile of lost blocks. LOL Glad you found them & got it done because it really looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh my! This quilt sure didn't want to be made for some silly reason. So glad you found it because it's very pretty. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
