week 5- rainbow scrap challenge November

hollow nine  is my next 5 quilt project which is also an older ufo from the rainbow scrap challenge  2023. I was convinced I had the big border on this before I put it away, but, no. I plan to applique the border with raw edge applique. I have the bias stem ready, and a few of the flowers cut. O plan on working on this in December.

And, now, I have added a 10 inch border. I hope I made it big enough that I can trim it after I add the applique.

I have new sugar grove blocks

I have all 100- 3 1/2 inch hsts cut for the bottom of the baskets for my bonnie Hunter basket quilt. I grabbed a very full drawer of 3 1/2 inch strips and started cutting. I have some neutrals to cut, and then, all the pieces are ready to make a quilt.

  2. Loving your plan for the Hollow 9 blocks. Adding applique in the border will elevate a really simple scrappy block to a whole new level.

  4. The nine-patches are great as they are but the applique will enhance them. Are you doing the new mystery?

  5. The Hollow 9's are already cute, so I can't wait to see how awesome the applique border will turn out!

  6. Hollow Nines with an applique border sounds very pretty. I've got a bunch of these blocks too, just had to jump aboard once I saw them appearing on RSC. Wonder how many others have them too, tucked away?

  7. Love your Hollow Nine blocks / quilt top. I have a good stack of them too, but not going to do anything about it this year! Fun Sugar Grove blocks too.
