Red was the color of the month in April for the rainbow scrap challenge. I worked on an older ufo from 2016 to move it along called pfeffernuuse. By the end of the month, I had all the large HSTS made. I noticed when I put it away, at the end of the month, that all the red hourglass blocks were not the same. This month is brown or black. That means I can revisit this ufo. I am really glad to restart the project in October to correct the problem, and maybe make a top.
I started making the hourglass blocks in 2017.
This note was in the box. I must have sewn all willy nilly, when I started making them years ago.
I started the string blocks in 2016.

Hopefully the error doesn't take long to fix. You've been so good about working on your older UFOs and getting them finished.
ReplyDeleteSo, did you indeed sew them wrong or can you use them as is?
ReplyDeleteLong term projects can be so satisfying to move along toward the finish line. This will be just as pretty as you imagined when you started it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great project to work on this month! I hope you figure out what happened to the hour glass blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love that you leave yourself little notes. I do that as well. When visiting old projects again it really helps with remembering what was going on when you put it away.
ReplyDeleteI did a double take when I saw the block named pfeffernuuse. Haven't thought of those cookies in years. Used to make them for Christmas. Good for you for picking up where you left off.
ReplyDeleteLove those red scraps you're using for Pffeffernusse! Hopefully you can rescue what you've done without much trouble. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss. https://www.inquiringquilter.com/questions/2025/10/08/wednesday-wait-loss-453
