I was in need of border fabrics for my blue skies quilt. I checked hobby lobby and was unimpressed with my choices in yellow and blue. It is a string quilt, so my next choice was thrift shirts. Some thrift stores here are very pricey. But I found these that were just right. I don't count shirt fabric in my yardage totals since I haven't bought any in a very long time, but I am away from home. I don't really want to do the math to add it now.

I sewed 4 days last week.
I have decided to work on my older ufo applique project - across the wide missourri- again, as we will be spending quality car time, on vacation.
I finished the last block, so it's time to begin block 8. I traced the pieces on freezer paper and cut them out.

That blue checked shirt will make a fun border with that yellow one. You did a bit of everything last week. Happy stitching this week.
ReplyDeleteYour string blocks will look fabulous with borders made with these pretty shirts. I love the blue one. The appliquéd house is going to be lovely too. Great progress on the rug's sky. Thank you for sharing your work in progress and linking up!
