This is week 4 already for the rainbow scrap challenge. I have assembled all the blocks I had made for flying home. I definitely want it bigger. I have 8 leftover blocks. I only have to make 4 more to add a row to the top and bottom. That is what I have decided to do. I made a trip to hobby lobby and found a really great border fabric, too.
zig zag quilt, is last year's rsc project. I cut and sewed all the blocks. This year, the plan is to take all the single units in the color of the month, and sew twosies with any other color. That way, I won't even notice I am working on assembling the quilt. Sneaky right?
I added the color to the 16 patches I made last week for my square dance blocks. Very nice and scrappy.
They are very cute.

I understand angularly challenged. Check , check and recheck! Good Luck! Loves the windmill blocks too!
ReplyDeleteYour first project - Flying Home - has inspired a way to use up some of my left over blocks. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteFUn blocks!! I like the layout for flying home
ReplyDeleteGood idea for moving already started projects along by working on the blocks of that color and assembling them. I've started working on my bigger projects in the color of the month vs. starting another rainbow quilt.
ReplyDeleteSquare Dance is a neat design! Perfect for all your scraps!
ReplyDeleteFlying home is looking so Great!! And I love your plan for the Zig Zag. Our quilt group made one of those several years ago & it felt like we sewed those together for weeks, so doing them in a sneaky fashion sounds brilliant!
ReplyDeleteHow does one subscribe to your blog? Sharon
ReplyDeleteYou've made great progress. Like always you have some fun projects in the works.
ReplyDeleteI'm challenged putting blocks together as well - how I mess things up when I pick up 2 blocks from the living room floor to the sewing room and back to the living room, I haven't a clue! Great idea with the sneaky sewing of the quilt. Hope you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to make a rolling windmill quilt for awhile but haven't been able to get the block pattern or dimensions correctly as far as the angle for cutting.. Would you mind sharing what size you cut your blocks? Thanks in advance .
ReplyDeleteI love how many projects you have going on, and how you keep them so organized! No wonder you finish so many quilts. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
