pfeffernusse and windmill

Red is the color for April for the rainbow scrap challenge. My choice for an older ufo that uses the color red was pfeffernusse.  It is a Bonnie Hunter pattern from her book string fling.  I started it with 72 string blocks in 2016. In 2017, I cut and made 288 red hourglass blocks. Here at the end of April, I have cut each string block and sewn a white hst with a brown one. They all needed trimmed.

I did manage to get one big block made to see what it would look like. It is a  pretty block. Now, it will wait for another turn for more progress. Maybe, it will come out during brown month. I am pleased with the progress.

All the red windmill blocks will join it's friends waiting for next month's color.

  3. Bonnie's patterns sure give opportunities to use those scraps. The string blocks are especially pretty aren't they?

  4. Both red projects are coming along nicely. It always feels good to make good progress on a BH project, so many pieces!
