This month, I didn't have the resources to make as much as I wanted for the rainbow scrap challenge.
Still, I attempted to make as much as I could, with what I had access to with me. I was surprised how much fun that challenge was for me. I think I could get rid of a lot of stuff from my quilting studio at home. Although, I still have great ufos waiting in the wings that may need some stash fabric to finish.
I am so close with this yellow baby string quilt. I still have a few days left.....

I sewed all the red zig zag quilt blocks with another color to make twosies.
\
I added the outside borders for the square, play blocks from 2 1/2 inch squares.
I brought the entire layer cake with solid colors for the frames of square dance quilt, and red was one of the colors. I had brought my 2 inch squares with me to make the 16 patches. And, I still have a gazillion 2 inch squares to take home.

I’m inspired to make a string pieced HST quilt after seeing your lovely yellow, almost a top, project. It really sings.
ReplyDeleteEven if you didn't find time for a lot of reds, there are plenty of fun blocks coming together. Those yellow strings are beautiful! So many great design possibilities.
ReplyDeleteAwesome scrappy goodness! All the blocks are terrific, but my favorites are the square play ones.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty blocks you've made this week. The Square Dance and Windmill blocks really speak to me!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those small squares multiply overnight. I had a small stack last year which took me ages to finally use up. I like your windmill blocks.
ReplyDeleteYour yellow soon to be a quilt, is full of sunshine. So pretty. You've been busy making pretty red blocks. The rolling windmill blocks look fun to make.
ReplyDeleteYou've made good progress on all your scrappy projects. The yellow string baby quilt is going to be so pretty. Hope you still have lots of things to play with while on vacation.
ReplyDeleteYay, you've almost finished the yellow-striped quilt top! I'm sure it was a fun challenge to sew with whatever you had on hand, but I'm also sure you'll love getting back into your sewing room ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pretty blocks and linking up.
I can see you had another creative week. The yellow crib quilt is coming along nicely.
ReplyDeleteLove that string quilt and can't wait to see the finish! Your RSC blocks are pretty. What a great way to mix it up and still play RSC! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
