In May, I began working on an older ufo, Holy Toledo is a quiltville pattern from the book shirts and scraptails 2. The top is finished and it is time to work on the borders. I had a chance to cut some of the hsts I need before my Friday sew group. I chain pieced the ones I had, and, started making the block pieces. I need 36. I see more cutting and sewing in my future. I have tried matching the shirt fabric combos before I cut. That might be slowing me. I am just afraid, if I go willy nilly cutting, I might not like the end result. Making the borders, will be my one monthly goal for October.
this is what I am hoping to make in my version

I have always loved that quilt! Maybe someday I will make it. Can't wait to see yours!
ReplyDeleteThat will be very pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great pattern and it looks so good in shirtings! I am horrified by the news from Michigan about the shootings at the LDS church yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove those plaid shirt HSTs. The plaid fabrics make everything look so cozy.
ReplyDeleteHoly Toledo, indeed!!! What a magnificent quilt this will be, Maggie!
