One of my monthly goals for the 5 quilt project is to spend one day a month cutting scraps. I cut a bag of scraps into useable pieces in August. The bag weighed 1 pound 4 ounces. When I was done, the parts weighed 9 ounces = 1 1/2 yards of useable fabric. + strings. I still have a bit left to cut.
For the year, the total is 36 1/2 yards of useable fabric.

Cutting scraps into usable sizes is such a great habit to get into. I tend to leave this job until the scraps overtake the cutting table! :)
ReplyDeleteA monthly target makes the task so much more manageable!
ReplyDeleteThis goal is great, now you have a lot of pieces ready to be sewn into quilts. I love the little trees, maybe a future Christmas quilt?
ReplyDeleteCutting scraps does pay off, but boy it's a chore. So good job for getting one bag almost cut.
