week 3 - March red rainbow scrap challenge

I have made a little progress on my projects for rainbow scrap challenge.

It is exciting to have part of the yellow baby string quilt sewn together. It will be small - just right for a baby quilt. And, I made it with leftover blocks from blue skies.

I had to dig, but, I found enough red to make candy chains blocks

I added the inner border for the square, play blocks. I miscounted the outside borders for these blocks, and I will need to find a few more 2 1/2 inch squares before I can add them to the blocks.

  1. Lovely blocks! I always like to see what you make with scraps. Also, I have to thank you for the instructions for your Rolling Windmills blocks on your Feb. 3 post. I am using different instructions, and I never thought to square up the sections before putting them together! You are a genius. Thanks!

  2. Oh, what a great idea to make the Candy Chain blocks for the RSC. I like so many of the Quilted Twins quilt patterns and have made four of them so far. This might need to join the 2027 RSC list 😁

  3. Sweet blocks!! Seeing that pretty string quilt coming together is a good reminder to see if I need more red string blocks for my ongoing string project.
