stash report September 21, 2025

I found a great new addition for my featherweight. I was at a rug hooking event, and, one of the booths had a woodworker selling quilting tools. He made a foot pedal holder for the featherweight that holds it in place, and, has a piece of wood that hits the fiddley pedal just right. I tried it and it works great. Some days, I have a little problem finding the sweet spot for the foot button, even after using it for years.

I have also been to a quilt show and added fabric. I will have to unpack and measure and fold.

I have created a new friendship swap for my rug hooking group. It is a swap rug. Everyone wanted houses this time. It has two rows of houses, and trees, too. We each do a house on our own rug, and then, we pass it around for everyone to hook a house on our rug, When we are done, we will have a rug with our friends hooking on it. I have made 2 or 3 others and they are such a treasure. We have a goal to trade every two weeks.

my next rug to do for Jan

  1. That's a cool way to keep a foot pedal in place. Your rug is really coming along, love those houses.

  2. The foot pedal holder looks great, and I guess it comes with a non-slip patch underneath. Fabulous addition to the sewing room! Have fun hooking a new house on Jan's project. Thank you for sharing and linking up today!

  3. Isn't it great when you find something that you needed, but didn't know was made? That rug is looking so pretty.

  4. I gave up trying to use the old style pedal for my Featherweight and just bought a replacement foot. Ah -- no problems keeping it running! Hope your new gadget makes using the pedal much easier!

  5. I don't have a Featherweight, but when I sew, I out a tuna can under my heel. It keeps my foot at a more natural angle than the floor and I can sew longer. Rug hooking fascinates me, but... ;) Hugs, Kara
